What is Anonymous Browsing?

Anonymous browsing means accessing the internet without revealing your identity, IP address, or location to websites, advertisers, or your ISP.

Every time you visit a website without protection, your real IP address is logged by the server, your ISP records the domains you visit, and advertisers build behavioral profiles from your activity. Anonymous browsing prevents this by masking your true identity before your traffic reaches its destination.

The three main tools for anonymous browsing are VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), which encrypt all traffic and replace your IP with a server address; proxy servers, which act as intermediaries for specific requests; and Tor, which routes traffic through at least three encrypted relays operated by volunteers worldwide.

However, even with a VPN active, your real identity can still be exposed through DNS leaks (when DNS queries bypass the VPN tunnel), WebRTC leaks (when browsers expose local IP addresses via the WebRTC API), and browser fingerprinting (when your browser’s unique configuration is used to track you across sites).
